Purchase Cheap Hairspray London Theatre Tickets on the Internet Today

September 24th, 2009

Hairspray is the story of a cheery youngster named Tracy Turnblad, an aspiring dancer who wants to gain a place on a local TV programme named the Corny Collins Show. The programme is really based on a Baltimore-based television programme called the Buddy Dean Show in Baltimore, Maryland.

Tracy is unheard of in the performing arts arena when she auditions, yet she is chosen for one of the dancing spots and against incredibly long odds becomes a dancing idol almost overnight. Tracy is glad by this new status, & she makes the decision to apply her new found fame to help make positive developments to the TV program. The fundamental cause for these positive improvements is related to race. Tracy seeks to racially unite the show, & as one may well guess, Tracy is met with a significant amount of opposition.

Hairspray moved to the West End in two-thousand and seven, opening for press at the Shaftesbury Theatre on October the eleventh, before being unveiled to the general public at its big opening on October the thirtieth, two-thousand and seven. The musical has had some well known actors — Michael Ball plays the part of Edna Turnblad, Tracy’s mother, offering a splendid rendition in this challenging female part, whilst Mel Smith played joke shop manager Wilbur Turnblad, Tracy’s father. The original cast in the West End also features newcomer to the theatre stage, Leanne Jones, in the leading character of Tracy. You can buy London Theatre Tickets online today.

Hairspray has received many positive reviews from reporters & musical theatre goers alike. Jacqueline remarked: “I have been four times to date and I will be definitely going back again next week & a few more times after that. I love the theatre show & wish they could stay on much longer. Ben Ellis is very good as link & Leanne Jones as Tracey & Michael Ball, well they are all astonishing. The play hairspray is my favourite, simply because its bubbly & if you are feeling a bit depressed then it will make you feel a whole lot happier. I give it a ten out of ten – I love it well done to everyone concerned.

Hairspray the musical show is on at the Shaftesbury Theatre throughout 2009, find theatre information and acquire your seats on the Web.
